Toronto Data Centre Colocation
TNW Networks operates a data colocation and network operating centre at 330 Bay Street in the heart of Downtown Toronto’s financial district. 330 Bay Street, otherwise known as the Northern Ontario Building, is a high-rise, 16-storey office building ideally situated adjacent to the Toronto Adelaide central office.
Built in 1999, the Toronto data centre provides a secure, climate-controlled environment with access to high-bandwidth Internet for hosting the mission-critical network equipment and web servers.
During the NorthEast blackout of August 2003, our Toronto data colocation centre was up and running thanks to the robust architecture of the site and the dedication of our technical service team.
Toronto Data Centre Highlights
We know that you depend on us to keep your critical business equipment up and running 24/7. That’s why we take our data centre design seriously and are proud to have a track record to prove it.
Secure Access and Monitoring
We provide 24-hour access to our data centre. You are provided with an access card to enter the building and a unique five-digit PIN to enter the data centre. Video surveillance cameras have been installed throughout our facility to provide continuous monitoring.
Our network and data centres are monitored 24/7/365 by our experienced network operations team to ensure that we are aware of any potential network problems or deficiencies.
Redundant Power and Cooling
Our data centre features two main power feeds distributed through three electrical rooms to provide balanced power distribution throughout the facility. Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems have been deployed in each electrical room and are backed by an 800 kW diesel generator. HVAC units have been installed to maintain a consistent operating temperature and provide redundant cooling throughout our data centre.
Range of Cabinet Options
We offer lockable quarter, half and full cabinets as well as customized data suites with multiple AC and DC power options to choose from. UPS power is available upon request.
Fire Suppression
Our Toronto data centre has a non-combustible raised floor and dropped ceiling, enabling safe and efficient wiring throughout the facility. We have deployed a dry-pipe pre-action fire suppression system to safeguard our data centre in the event of a fire. If a fire is started, water is not released immediately. Sensors will isolate where the fire is located and water will be deployed in the affected area. Fire extinguishers are also located throughout the facility.
High Availability Internet and Network Access
Multiple Internet peering connection points, each with multiple peering partners provide geographic and peering redundancy. Multiple Internet and network access types are available with speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
